My
groups veteran was changed multiple times and we eventually had a veteran to
interview. Our veteran was very kind and he worked in the air force. We never
saw combat as he was just a repair man on the base. His job was to stabilize
and fix aircraft that are not functioning properly. During the interview
he talked about his family and what it was like to be away from them for a long
period of time. We also learned what the training was like and the strict
schedules that they put you through to get you ready for the military. Our
veteran has never seen combat however he has served out country by repairing
these aircrafts. Our veteran also talked about what post military life was like
and what he does as a career now. Our veteran has a schedule that he follows
every day and it is similar to the military schedule. Our veteran wakes up very
early every morning and gets his day started. He liked his experience in the
military and feels like it has changed him in a positive way. Our veteran is
now a runner and enjoys running short marathons and using this to clear his
mind and just enjoy his life. Even though he did not actually see any combat he
got to experience the effects of it and use this knowledge to improve his work
and create a better experience for himself and everyone that he worked with. This
experience will go on with him throughout the rest of his life.
