Speak Truth to Power Project

The speak truth to power project was a project that my group did not complete. This project we did research about someone who tried to release himself and money others from internment camps all around Asia. Our human rights defender was Ka Hsaw Wa. His goals were to liberate people being taken against their will and forced to stay in these internment camps. Our defender was interviewed several times and worked to ensure safety of everyone he came in contact with. He is a Burmese human rights activist and is a member of the Karen Indigenous group. He and his wife who is also a human rights advocate and attorney. They started Earth Rights international where he focused on defending human rights and the environment. He was born under a different name however he changed it to protect his family. The name Ka Hsaw Wa means The White Elephant. Elephants in his native country are shown as strong and well by everyone. During his younger years he lived as a son to a doctor and lived a very economically privileged life. This project overall was a very boring project and I never finished it because I did not have any interest in what I was doing. This project was not successful because I did not complete the project and failed to create a video showing our defender and what his entire movement was about. This project is a good project if the students enjoy the topic and everything that it has to do with.
